He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jan Logsdon; his daughter, Leah Logsdon; his son, Gary Lewis and wife, Cheryl; his grandson, Austin Lewis and wife, Macey; his granddaughter, Grayson Lewis; and his cherished great-grandson, Reece Lewis.
He is also survived by his brother, Vic Logsdon and wife, Sue, and their daughter, Jennifer and husband, Monty; his sister-in-law, Sandy Hill; his nephew, Alan Hill; and his niece, Mary Mason, along with their families.
John loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and, above all, raising and showing rabbits. Through many years of dedication, he earned numerous accomplishments and was well respected within the rabbit-show community. The friendships he made through this passion brought him great joy.
John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, strong work ethic, generosity, and the many lessons he shared with his family and friends will continue to live on in those whose lives he touched.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 2:30 P.M. at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 584 Lebanon Road, Kingsport, Tennessee, 37663, with Reverend Jon Robert Hermes officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in John’s honor and memory be made to Petworks, 3101 E. Stone Drive, Kingsport, Tennessee, 37660 or to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.
