To John's family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. John was a wonderful person and will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. He was so much fun to work with and was always trying to make you laugh. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I know he is looking down on you all with a smile on his face.

My last conversation with John ("John John" as he was affectionately known by his family throughout childhood) was in the hospital. John had a question for me which I Thank God he was able to ask and I was able to answer. His reply to my question was "That's good enough". John lifted a weight from my shoulders, as he has obviously done for so many others over the years, and I look forward to Thanking him someday.
We also talked a few minutes about running track. John ran several different races/distances, but his favorite was the 440, now called the 400 meters... the toughest race in the sport because it is an all-out sprint for one quarter of a mile. One quarter of a mile in under 55 seconds. John tackled it with ease.
Godspeed John... love you

Carol, Scott, Terri and all the family, My sincere heartfelt condolences go out to you at this grievous time. I spent many enjoyable times with your family, many laughs and it was inevitable that I developed a love and bond for all the family.
The grief and suffering is for those left behind, Johnny is no longer suffering. He is completely healed and resting in the arms of Jesus. If he could speak to each member of his family and all of his friends, he would admonish them to turn their eyes toward Jesus now. Live for Him while you have the health to work for God.
I’m going to let Johnny’s passing be a reminder to me that I don’t know what tomorrow holds, or even if there will be a tomorrow for me. Let’s all be washed in the blood, filled with the spirit and ready for that glorious day. We have hope that we will meet again. Johnny just got a head start. My prayers and love to every family member and friend of Johnnys.

John and I have been friends since before our freshman year. There is so many memories and fun times we had. We graduated and because I was 17 my dad would not let me go to the beach with the boys so John came with us in a camper for a crowded miserable trip, but he shared it with me and made it a good trip for me he always called me on my birthday even after I moved away...Love you brother and will miss you not being in the world!

I am so sorry for your loss. I met John and Scott when we were barely in our teens. They were staying with their birth mother and her husband John and my parents Brenda and Jim Gobble lived up the hill. I was friends with Johns daughter Tina and thelma's little sister Stacy. We all enjoyed the time that we got to spend together but lost touch over the years. I saw John a few times over the years. Our boys played flag football and went to school together. I would occasionally run into him while out shopping and always stopped to talk for a few minutes. I will truly miss those accidental moments. I will keep you all in my prayers.

John and I spent graduation night together. Probably shouldn’t share all the details but we had a large time I promise!!!
Love that crazy guy and heartbroken but proud all in the same time. He was at peace with his situation and had the dignity to laugh.
He put out the word for everyone to get themselves checked early. Just another way he thought of others before himself.
I love you brother. You would be so proud of Scott and Alex. Two of the best men I know.
Hope to see you again.

John was a friend that always cared truly for all of his friends... close friends, or the ones he seen on occasions. He always treated you the same and wanted to know how YOU were doing. Always a hug and that beautiful smile. He was the same every time you seen him. He was a loving, giving and caring man. I do have fun memories with John that I will cherish forever!! Definitely gone too soon but we cannot question Gods will. He’s no longer suffering and is present with the Lord 🙏
I’m Praying for ALL of his family that God will comfort you during this sad loss. Please find comfort in knowing Gods Promise that you will see him, and join him in Heaven. 🙏🙏❤️
