Jon was born on November 22, 1975, in Kingsport, where he resided most of his life.
Jon had his son Koda Hanmer on November 5, 2004. He was a single father with an amazing support system. Jon also attended Northeast Community College where he graduated with an associate’s degree in electrical technologies. He was a well-loved, successful, and highly regarded warehouse associate and delivery truck driver for LaFerney, Inc. for ten years. Jon was very talented and could build just about anything.
Jon had a tough, gruff exterior, but beneath it all, was a deeply kind and loving heart. He loved his family fiercely and would do anything for the people he cared about. He was someone whom you could trust with a secret, loyal enough to stand by you, and honest enough to call you out when you needed it. For all his toughness, he had a special soft spot for the kids in the family. Jon was unmistakably his own person---- one of a kind, with a contagious laugh and a way of making everyone remember him. He was truly an amazing man and the family’s favorite jackass.
