Juanita King Edwards

Juanita King Edwards, age 103, born June 24, 1913, died on September 13, 2016. She was the most wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who is now walking the golden streets of heaven with her Lord and Savior. She was a Christian woman who was loved and respected by all who knew her.

She was a wife, homemaker, Sunday School teacher, Church pianist, school teacher, a master craftsman in cross stitching, making many beautiful pieces treasured by everyone who was honored to own one of her pieces. Above all, she was the most reverent Angel and mother that God ever sent to earth. She took great pride in her 3 children.

Juanita is greeted in heaven by husband, Virgil W. Edwards of 70+ years; son, James W. Edwards Sr.; parents, Elsie Lee King & James Bailey King; sister, Vivian Lee Bailey; and grandchildren, Anita Edwards, Jason S. Edwards, and Debbie Mink.

She is survived by son, Charles E. Edwards & wife Sue of Hoschton, GA: daughter, Betty Jo Bowman & husband Roger of Knoxville, TN; daughter-in-law, Shirley Josephine Edwards, wife of James W. Edwards, Sr.; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren, all of whom are too many to name. She was so loved by many other family and friends.

On Tuesday (September 20, 2016) Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Baptist Church (406 Cooks Valley Road Kingsport, TN 37664). Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Baptist Church with Pastors Dave Birch and Roy Graves officiating.

The Committal service will be held on Wednesday (September 21, 2016) at 3:00 p.m. at Lynnhurst Cemetery (2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918).

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Sunnyside Baptist Church c/o building fund (406 Cooks Valley Road Kingsport, TN 37664).
