Judith “Judy”Anderson Ford, 64, of Kingsport, TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, November 5, 2019 after heroically battling breast cancer for over 6 years. She exemplified what it meant to walk by faith and was an encouragement to all she came in contact with. Judy is now reunited with her parents, Robert (Bob) and Elizabeth (Libby) Anderson as well as her best friend and sister, Elizabeth Lynne Shelton.
Left behind rejoicing in her whole body healing are her husband and soul mate of 47 years, Terry Ford of Kingsport; her children, Amy Lane (Jeff) of Kingsport and Jonathan Ford (Candi) of Knoxville; her siblings, Robert Anderson (Teresia) of Cookeville, Jane Haynes (Ralph) of Elizabethton, and Mark Anderson (Mary) of Sevierville; her grandchildren who were the light of her life Izzy and Emmett Lane of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Judy loved caring for others through acts of kindness as well as being active in church ministries. She attended Holy Mountain Baptist Church for 40 years and was thankful for her sister in Christ, Tammy Fillers. Judy loved sharing God’s word with the young ladies in Sunday School for 30+ years with her dear friend Phyllis Malone and cherished that time with her! She always looked forward to the exciting times she had teaching in VBS with Eddie Robbins, Russ Tribble and Pam Schmutzler. In her free time, Judy loved baking, reading and spending time with her grandkids who adored her. Judy was the Property Manager at Kiwanis Towers for 25 years where she tirelessly ensured all the residents were well taken care of.
Judy and her family wish to extend a special thank you to BHMA Hematology and Oncology, especially Dr. Edwin McElroy and Joyce Siegel for their faithful support and encouragement through her cancer journey. We also wish to thank Amedisys Hospice and her nurse Rachel Kilbourn who made the last part of her journey a peaceful one.
