Letha Margaret Phillips Darnell

She was born October 5, 1924 in Pound, Va. to the late Lloyd and Rosanna Phillips and has resided in Kingsport for most of her life.She was the most wonderful, loving mother and grandmother in the world.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Roy E. Darnell, and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by sons, Eddie Darnell and wife Lois, Roy (RL) Darnell and wife Tina, Steve Darnell and wife Karen, daughters, Jean Street and husband Mike, Delilah Gillenwater and husband Gerald, Joan Holly and husband Larry, Janie Dixon and husband John, Teresa Golden and husband Roger, Margaret Holliman and husband Tommy, 17 grandchildren, 32 great grand children, brother Herman Phillips, sisters, Charmie Church, Beulah Gardner and Kaye Swaim, special sister-in-law Martha McConnell and niece Patty.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Bethel Apostolic Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm, with Pastor Garland Tipton and Pastor Edward Street officiating. Graveside services will be at 11am, Friday, December 31, 2010 at East Lawn Memorial Park where family and friends are asked to gather by 10:45 am at the graveside.

Serving as pallbearers will be the grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be the son-in-laws.
