Lillie Nina Douglas

A native of Kingsport, TN, Mrs. Douglas was born on February 22, 1926 the daughter of the late John and Maude Belle Short Wilkinson. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who retired from the Indian Springs Elementary School having worked for many years in the cafeteria. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred, James and Gene Wilkinson and by a sister Minnie King. Mrs. Douglas was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and was married to Edward J. Douglas who survives.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Mr. Edward J. Douglas. One son, Mr. Allan Douglas of Kingsport. Three daughters, Mrs. Karen (Mark) May of Colorado, Mrs. Brenda (David) Dyer of Knoxville, TN, and Mrs. Gail ( Kyle) Pope of Bristol. Three grandchildren, Preston May, Toby Douglas, and Kyle Pope II. One sister, Mrs. Ellie King. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Douglas will be conducted on Friday August 16, 2013 at 7 p.m. from the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Shuler officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until the service hour at the church.

Burial will follow on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of The Good Shepherd. Those desiring to attend burial services should assemble at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wellmont Hospice House 280 Steele Road, Bristol, Tn.
