Lois Minor Forgety

Lois was born and raised in Kingsport and worked at Eastman Chemical Company as an inspector. After leaving Eastman, she pursued her passion of sewing. She became a well know seamstress of Kingsport.

Lois had a love for Jesus and children. She was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. She spent many years as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed going to the local pre-schools and elementary schools to read to the children.

Lois was a resident at Brookdale Assisted Living, Rock Springs for eight years. During this time, she became an Ambassador. She was a leader in showing other residents how to play games. She enjoyed meeting new residents, showing them around the facility, and making them feel welcomed.

She was preceded in death by Edgar Minor and Joe Forgety.

She is survived by son, Jerome (Jerry) Minor and wife Mary Etta; two granddaughters, Carla Dykes and husband Mark, and Tracie Price and husband Mitchum; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Kindle and husband Dave, Dylan Price and fiancé Tricia, and Dalton Price and girlfriend Kayla; four great-great-grandchildren, Cody Goode, Gabriella Kindle, Mason Price, and Ezra Johnson.

The family would like to express their heartfelt “Thank you” to the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living, Rock Springs and Sun Crest Hospice for all of their loving care during this time.

Lois will be laid to rest in a private service. Anyone that would like to pay their respects may do so at the home of Jerome (Jerry) Minor.
