Mrs. Mary Ruth Miller, age 86, of Jonesborough went to be with the Lord on Sunday July 28, 2013 at a local hospital. A native of Hawkins County, TN, Mrs. Miller was born on May 30, 1927, the daughter of the late. Roy Andrew and Bertha Walker Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, First Sgt. Roy C. Miller in 2001. She was a member of the Way of Life Baptist Church. Mrs. Miller was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother loving her children and grandchildren and enjoyed taking family pictures. She was also a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, referring to the team as “that’s my boys". Her sisters Edith Lane, Martha Barrett, Frances Hamm and Annie Williams along with her brothers, Frank and Dee Williams, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Kim (Ronald) New of Surgoinsville, Vicki (Ronald) Dingus of Jonesborough, and Nicole (Tony) McClain of Kingsport. Her grandchildren; Bradley New, David Dingus, Jacob McClain. Great-grandchildren; Sydney New, Daniel Dingus, Benjamin Dingus, and Lucas Dingus. Her sister; Lillian (Larry) Morelock. Her brother R.A. Williams along with a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be conducted on Wednesday July 31, 2013 at 7 p.m. from the chapel of the East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Gibson officiating.. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jericho Shrine Temple, 1100 Jericho Dr. Kingsport, TN. 37663.
