For more than 50 years, Kay shared her life with husband Allen Mowell (deceased). She was the daughter of Harrell Head and Mabel Dean (both deceased). Kay was born in Kingsport, where she was raised with two brothers James Head and Mike Head, and one sister Carolyn Allen (deceased). She was later joined in life by step-mother Eva Head and stepsister Patrica Barr.
Left with her loving memory are daughter Christina Glotzbach and husband Charlie; son Rick Mowell and wife Karen; four grandchildren, Matthew Glotzbach, Mark Glotzbach and wife Rebecca, James Mowell, and Justin Mowell; two great grand children Caleb Mowell and Ariana Mowell; and many nieces and nephews. Special furry companion Caeser.
Kay touched everyone she met. Throughout her life, she shared her beauty and joy with the world through her baking, art, styling hair, sewing, crafts and dancing. The greatest joy in her life was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She will be most missed by those who knew and loved her for her silly sense of humor, warm smiles and hugs, her kind and caring words, and the best biscuits and gravy ever. She knew the love of her Lord, and her love for others was endless. She is dancing with Allen in heaven today.
Due to the continuing pandemic, the family has chosen to postpone a memorial service to a later date; in the meantime, please remember and celebrate Kay’s life and keep her family in your prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org
