Mrs. Marzella Dill Bowman, 72, widow of Carroll Brent Bowman, passed away early Friday morning (February 26, 2016) while in the company of her family after an extended illness. Marzella was born May 11, 1943 to the late Rosco & Mary Dill in Sulphur Springs, TN. Marzella was a graduate of ETSU, earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. Marzella spent the majority of her working life caring passionately for others while working as an RN at several of the local medical centers. Later in life, Marzella took her years of experience to the classroom of Sullivan North High School’s HOSA program, where she shared her knowledge with our future nurses and doctors. Marzella was a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church, and served Christ faithfully throughout her life. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Marzella was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Dill and Christine Thompson; and two brothers, Clayton and Charlie Dill. Marzella is survived by her daughter, Susan Denise Bowman; son, John David Bowman; three grandchildren, Drew Mercer, Joanna Bowman, and Rebekah Bowman; two sisters, Virgie Walker and Brenda Luker; brother, Vernon Dill; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held in celebration of Marzella’s life on Monday (February 29, 2016) at 6:30 p.m. at Southwestern Baptist Church (1112 Cherokee Road Johnson City, TN 37604) with Pastor Greg Salyer officiating. The family will receive friends at 5 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Southwestern Baptist Church (1112 Cherokee Road Johnson City, TN 37604).
