Melonie “Mel” Gay McConnell, 39, of the Fall Branch community, passed away Nov. 8, 2011, at her home, which she shared with Trent Neeley, after an extended illness. She was born in Kingsport, TN, and graduated from Sullivan North High School in 1990, and spent the rest of her life in the Kingsport area.
Surviving in the home, Trent Neeley. Also surviving are her parents N.B. and Evelyn McConnell of the family home, one brother, Nathan Bryan McConnell and wife Tina M. McConnell (Booker), one sister, Tana Darlene McConnell Broyles, her children, Michael S. McConnell and Kaitlin N. Necessary, three nieces, Tessa D. Blevins and husband Jay, Alicia G. Mcconnell, and Tonya L. Chapman, one great niece, Macey Blevins, one great nephew, Dylan Blevins.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, at East Lawn Funeral Home or anytime at the home. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Jack Morelock officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
