Mildred Bishop

Mildred Ruth Bishop, age 87, peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on January 5, 2012. She was born in Scott County, Va., and was a longtime resident of Indian Springs. Mildred took great pride in being a homemaker. She was a member of Island Road Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Ernest G. Bishop, daughter, Regenia R. Bishop, son, Creg S. Bishop and wife Shirley, grandchildren Emma K. Wertz and husband George, Libby P. Massie and husband Tracy, Andrea E. Jenkins and husband Matthew, Todd Goins, great-grandchildren Norah E. Jenkins, Ronin A. Wertz, Adalyn R. Massie, Ellora G. Wertz. Sister-in-law, Patsy Franklin and husband L. B. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Lay, officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
