
Millie Mathis Moore, age 96 of Kingsport, Tennessee, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born on September 12, 1915 in Sneedville, Tennessee to the late Jesse and Pearl Martin Mathis. She was a long time member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a member of the church choir, and loved her Sunday school class. She worked many years at Borden Mills. Mrs. Moore was known as Mom Moore to the many children that she babysat.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William A. Moore (Bill); brother, George Mathis; sister, Ida Fleenor; grandson, John Mark Moneyhun, and a son-in-law, Ballard H. Blevins.
Survivors include: daughters: Delores Moneyhun and husband Dan, and Cathy Blevins; sons, Billy Moore, Bob Moore and wife Melissa and Dennis Moore; grandchildren: Courtney Hutton, Christy Lawson, Danielle Moneyhun McMeans, Dana Moneyhun, Andrew, Ben, Matthew and Gracie Blevins and Robert and Maria Moore; great grandchildren: Bailey Hutton, Emily and Amber Lawson, and soon to be: Cashdan McMeans; sisters: Lillie Fleenor of Sneedville, and Ruth Peart of Kingsport, along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Millie Moore, will be conducted on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Baker and Chris Ball officiating. Music will be provided by the Pleasant View Baptist Church Choir and Dan Moneyhun and daughters. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Interment will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11:00 am in East Lawn Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:45 am. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
