Mittie Adline Tomlinson

Mittie Tomlinson, age 91, entered into rest February 11, 2014 at Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Virginia. She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, a daughter to the late George and Mary Bessie Mowdy Light. Mittie was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Walter Tomlinson; two sisters, Margaret and Opal; daughter-in-law, Christine Tomlinson. She was a member of Cassidy United Methodist Church and was formerly employed at Indian Springs Elementary School. Mittie is survived by her son, George Tomlinson and his wife, Carolyn of Blountville; grandchildren, Sandra Thacker and husband Wayne of Johnson City, Teresa Cross of Kingsport; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Thacker, Chelsea Thacker and Justin Cross; step- grandson, Bradley Gobble of Abingdon, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park, with Rev.
