Murion K. Davick “Kelly”, age 93, of Fall Branch, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 18, 2013 at the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol. Kelly was born in Coulee, N.D. to the late Walmar and Ida Davick. He served in the South Pacific during World War II as a weatherman in the U.S. Navy. After the war, he joined the JC Penny Company and managed stores in Scranton, PA and in Richmond, VA, before coming to Kingsport and opening the new store here. Kelly was married to the late Vivian Thomas Davick for 52 years.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Norma Bacon Davick; daughter, Diane Tackett (Marshall); sons: Tom Davick (Linda) and Bill Davick (Sue). Along with his three children, he is survived by 5 grandchildren: Kari Tackett Fletcher, Margaret Tackett Aiken, Pete Tackett, Melissa Davick and Sam Davick; two great grandchildren: Mya Bishop and Ella Fletcher. He is also survived by Richard Bacon, Lin and Todd Stevens and grandson Jayden Stevens.
Kelly grew up in a family of nine brothers and sisters and is survived by his sister Valerie Forgey of Enumclaw, WA.
A Memorial Service will be held at Fall Branch United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fall Branch United Methodist Church, c/o Jerry Deakins, 272 Melody Lane, Fall Branch, TN 37656, to be used for the children’s ministry.
