Myrtle Peterson Wine

Myrtle was born June 21, 1915 in Poplar, North Carolina the daughter of the late Zack and Debbie Peterson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam P. Wine, brothers, S. J. Peterson, Ralph Peterson, Emmett Peterson and R. B. Peterson. Myrtle lived in Johnson City, Tennessee until she married and moved to the Indian Springs Community where she lived for the past 76 years. She was a long time member of Cassidy United Methodist Church, having held several positions in the church. She was a member of the U.M.W. Circle.

Myrtle has left behind to cherish her memories, her daughter Diane Wine; sister, Edna Bowman of Johnson City; sister-in-law, Jane Peterson of Knoxville, several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Haynes and Jewel Pendergrass.

The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Jeanie Robinette, Marie Garland and Susan Green.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Cassidy United Methodist Church from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Chuck Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cassidy United Methodist Church Adkins Property Fund.
