Nell Jane Sturgill Price

Nell Jane Sturgill Price, 91, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center after an extended illness. She was born on August 9, 1923 to the late Orbin and Mazy Sturgill in Letcher County, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold Edward Price, who was the love of her life. Also preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers; three sisters; and three daughters-in-laws, Pat Price, Kay Price and Lois Price. She is survived by one daughter, Betty Carroll (Tom) of Church Hill; two sons, Ray Price of Mt. Carmel and Bruce Price of Kingsport; three granddaughters, Kristi Fennell, Pamela Bledsoe (Shawn Bridges), and Beth Spivey (Chase); five grandsons, Robert Price (Brooke), Jonathan Price (Cassie), Michael Price (Heather), Joel Price (Ashley) and Jason Carroll (Kristin); nine great-grandchildren, Savannah Fennell, Kevin Price, Tyler Bridges, Leah and Jadon Spivey, Tanner Bridges, Ryan Bridges, Madison Bridges and Alexis Bridges; one sister, Anna Head Witkowski (Walter) of Lewes, DE; special niece, Kathy Scott (Gerald), who helped care for her during her illness; and several other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Price retired after a long career as a professional seamstress at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center. She was a member of Midfield Freewill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Gerhardt of First Baptist Church of Church Hill officiating. Music will be provided by her loving son, Ray Price and her grandson, Robert Price. A graveside service will follow in the Garden of Faith of East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Church Hill, c/o The Youth Department, PO Box 847, Church Hill, TN 37642.
