S. Paul Ammeen, age 85, entered into rest October 8, 2012. Born in Elizabeth City, N.C., a son to Joseph and Jessie Ammeen, he was a longtime resident of Blountville. Paul was a retired electrician, and formerly the manager of the LeBristo Beer Store and Lounge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served two tours during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several sisters and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Janet Ammeen; children, Sodd Jr., Guy, Susan, Diane and Bonnie; special children, Sharon (Larry), Cindy (Jim), Henry (Kate); grandchildren, Shannon, Vandi, Adam, Seth; numerous great grandchildren; special sister, Mary (Jack); niece, Bobbi Ann; his buddies, Houston and Sweet Pea; special friends, Rose, Jeff and Lauren, Betsy, Sam and Josh, Kathy and Ray, The Watts family, and Will Hubbard. A special thank you to Sharon for all the care she gave her “Pop”, he loved her dearly. Also the V.A., who took such good care of Paul for so many years, and to Hospice and Brookhaven. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at East Lawn Memorial Park.
