Randall Lynn English, 65, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on September 14, 2025. He was born on November 4, 1959, in Greeneville, Tennessee, to the late Charles and Jean English. Randall lived a full life defined by service, generosity, and passion for the things and people he loved. He graduated from Sullivan Central High School in 1977 and went on to attend the University of Tennessee for two years. He later became an owner, operator, and partner of English Cabinet Shop, Inc., where he carried forward his dedication and craftsmanship.
One of Randall's greatest joys was cooking. Over the years, his love of grilling and barbecue earned multiple awards in competitions, and he dedicated hundreds of hours on his craft. He shared this gift with countless others — from cooking at family holidays, to preparing meals for Boy Scouts of America events, to catering his niece Holly's wedding. Cooking was his way of showing love, and those who knew him will remember his generosity best expressed through food. Randall was a devoted member of the Boy Scouts of America, proudly serving in Troop 48 for over 50 years. Throughout his decades of involvement, he held roles as Assistant Scout Master, Order of the Arrow Chapter Advisor, Order of the Arrow Lodge Advisor, and served on several national Order of the Arrow staffs, as well as the National Jamboree Staff. His dedication was recognized through honors including the Pioneer Award and the Silver Beaver Award. In addition to Scouting, Randall was deeply connected to Pow Wow traditions, where he shared his passion for singing and dancing across the country. His artistry extended to creating hand-beaded, intricate moccasins, a craft he perfected with care and skill.
Randall is survived by his brothers Ken English (wife Tammy English) and Rob English (wife Terri English); and his nieces Elizabeth English Seguin (husband Alex Seguin), Holly English Corwin (husband Charles Corwin IV), Lorianne English, and Karrie English. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jean English.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate Randall’s life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 12:00 noon at East Lawn Memorial Park with Dr. David Luster officiating.
