Robert Daniel Bowen, Jr., 84, passed away on Tuesday (August 20, 2019) following an extended illness. Robert was born on November 30, 1934 in Kyles Ford, TN to the late Robert Daniel Bowen, Sr. & Ethel (Robinson).
“Bob” was the owner and operator of Speed Check Market for many years. He unselfishly served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed UT Football, classic cars and trucks, trips to the lake, and spending time with his family and friends. “Bob” was loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, “Bob” was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy & Lionel Grady.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret Lois (Marler) Bowen; nieces and nephews, Bill & Kristi Grady, Belinda & George Bridwell, Debbie & Grady Thompson, and Lisa & Clint Parrish; several great nieces and nephews, several great great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday (August 24, 2019) from noon to 2 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Leonard officiating. Eulogy will be provided by Jason Ingram, Shane Ingram, and Heather Butler.
“Bob” will be laid to rest on Saturday (August 24, 2019) at 3 p.m. in the Garden of Prayer at East Lawn Memorial Park.
