Ruby Jewell "Ratliff" Dishner of Kingsport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 surrounded by her family at home. Ruby was born on March 16, 1941, in Benhams, VA to Lewis and Hattie Stine Ratliff.
On Feb. 2, 1963, Ruby married her most cherished love of her life Edward "Ed" Dishner and after 61 years of a beautiful life together, he survives.
Ruby's greatest love and joy was her family, whom she cherished deeply. She loved to show off her beautiful flowers. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. Her pride and joy were her grandsons. They were the air she breathed. Ruby will leave behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. Her husband and daughters will cherish every memory and adventure they had with her. She always has a special gift of making everyone feel a part of her family. Ruby's last wish was for everyone to be ready to meet her in heaven with her Lord and Savior.
Ruby graduated from Bristol Tennessee High School, Johnston Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Abingdon, VA., Memorial Mission Hospital CRNA Nurse Anesthesia School, Asheville, NC and St. Joseph's College, Maine with a B.A. Degree.
Ruby was a member of the Kingsport Evening Civitan Club for many years and a member of the Loyalty Sunday School Class at Mafair United Methodist Church, Kingsport, TN.
Survivors include: daughters: Melissa Killebrew, husband, Kevin, Church Hill, TN and Melanie Reynolds, husband John, Woodstock, GA. Grandsons: Everett Zane, Donovan Cole and Weston Wyatt Reynolds, Woodstock, GA. Brother: Kenneth Allen Ratliff, Bristol, TN; sister: Virginia Pearl Jennings, Greenbrier, AR; nephews: Michael Ratliff, Bristol, TN and Terry Campbell, Greenbrier, AR and Greg Campbell, Conway, AR.
East Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park of Kingsport, TN is entrusted with the care of Ruby. Services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, with receiving of friends at 10 am, followed by a Celebration of Life Service conducted by Rev. Adam Love at 11 am, with burial to follow.
