Ruby Jean Millsap passed November 8, 2020 and went to heaven where her husband the late Benny Joe Millsap met her at the gate.

A tremendous amount of gratitude to those many individuals that visited, cooked, sang, danced, walked, laughed, talked, listened, cried, hugged, sat quietly, brought her tea, breakfast, snacks, ice cream and cared for “Ruby Jean” over the many years including her neighbors, friends, family and the many caretakers, nurses, staff, cooks, and maintenance at Yesterday’s Place located at the Village at Allandale.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 or Yesterday Place Activities At Allandale, 100 Strickland Ct, Kingsport, TN 37660.

Bridgette,
I have some great memories from Baskin-Robbins and working for your mom. She was so patient with the kids working there and had the best sense of humor. I can hear her now and some of the things she would tell us. I kind of thought you were a lot like her too!! I pray you and your family are comforted by many good memories.

Bridgette, Terry, Cindy and Jody - thinking of you and praying for peace and comfort. Aunt Ruby will be missed by many. I am so glad that Kip and Knox had the opportunity to know their Great Aunt Ruby. I can only imagine the celebrations in Heaven with others awaiting her arrival. Love you all! Brooke

I am so sorry to Terry, Bridgette, Cindy and Jody. Bridgette, I know these last years have been difficult. I remember living out of state and calling mom. Often she would say she, Aunt Ruby Jean and Aunt Phyllis had been out shopping or celebrating a birthday and Aunt Ruby Jean would say, "Let's get pie and coffee before we go home." Sometimes I was in visiting and was fortunate enough to go with them. They were lots of fun together and Aunt Ruby Jean kept us laughing. I know she and mom are having pie and coffee right now! What a celebration! Love you. Pam

I have so many fond memories of Mrs. Ruby Jean, it would take way too long to try & Rem. Them all. I can say this much, she was Beautiful inside & out, very energetic, funny, great big loving heart, and certainly a force to be reckoned with! I was blessed enough to get to know RJ ( that's what I called her💕) & spend a lot of time with her. One of our favorite things to do was go to the DQ & get us a Butterscotch dipped ice cream cone. She was such a LADY & a very strong one @ that. RJ taught me so much about the world with all of her wise wisdom. I will hold each & every memory of her in my heart forever & ever. We use to just sit, talk & get so tickled laughing that the neighbors could probably hear us. They really truly do not make them like that anymore!!! I look forward to the day I can run up into her arms & receive one of her gentle hugs. RJ, you know...It's not Goodbye, it's " We see you soon" I love you MORE 💕💞🙏

To Ruby's family, I thought the world of her. She was so sweet and kind. My mom, Wilma Durham, was at Yesterday's Place with Ruby. I was heart broken when the covid virus kept me from going to see Ruby and so many others there. After Mom passed away I still went to see Ruby and all the precious residents. I am praying for comfort for all of you. May God hold you in His loving arms.

Bridgette I am so sorry to hear about Ruby. I loved her very much. I have thought of her often. I will always be grateful for her friendship to my mom Bobbye Jo. They always made me laugh. I am sure they are laughing in heaven and probably getting into trouble! May God bless your family. ❤️🙏
