Ruby R. Osborne

A long time resident of Kingsport, Tennessee, Ruby Rhoton Osborne, age 92, died Monday the 10th of January, 2011 in Snellville, GA. She was born August 14, 1918 in Clinchport, VA. Her parents were Melvin and Amanda Rhoton of Clinchport, Va. Ruby was a owner/operator of a in home beauty shop and worked for many years, into her 80’s, as a hairdresser. She was a long time member of Kingsport Baptist Temple Church. She loved to spend time with friends and family, and was greatly loved and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons Melvin Osborne and wife Virginia of St Simons Island, GA, and Tony Osborne and wife Pam of Greenville, SC, 2 step sons, Marlin of Oklahoma City, OK, and Dexter Osborne of Quartz Hill, CA, 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Moore, of Kingsport, TN, and Jo Clayman of Winter Park, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Caner Osborne who passed in 1979.

A greeting for her friends and family will be held at noon on Monday, January 17, 2011, at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd in Kingsport, TN. A service honoring Ruby will take place at 2PM, and the burial will be immediately following the service at East Lawn with family members.
