Sevier Cavin, 94, passed into the loving arms of his Savior during the early morning hours of Sunday (October 21, 2018) surrounded by his beloved family. Sevier was born on January 16, 1924 to the late George & Ethel (Allen) Cavin in Kingsport, TN.
Sevier enjoyed spending his time outdoors hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family friends. In his spare time you would often find Sevier “whittling” on his front porch. Sevier unselfishly served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Penn Dixie Cement Company after more than 31 years of dedicated service. Sevier was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Sevier was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Robert Cavin; and three sisters, Stella Bear, Lillian “Shirl” Cox, and Irene Cavin.
Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 64 years, Bonnie Cavin; brother, Ray Cavin; sister, Edna Hutson; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will greet guests and share memories on Wednesday (October 24, 2018) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 1 p.m. with Pastor Danny Dolen officiating.
