

Born on March 8, 1956 in Kingsport, TN, she was the daughter of the late Joe H. Bushong and Hila Lovin Bushong, and wife of the late Frank Roach. She resided in Kingsport her entire life.
Sharon was the kind of person who showed up. She showed up for her family, friends, and community. She was a dedicated lifelong employee of McDonald’s, where she viewed her work as a ministry and touched countless lives through simple acts of kindness and encouragement.
Sharon was also a member of Grace Christian Church and a past member of the Indian Springs Optimist Club, Bible Study Fellowship, and the Emmaus community. She found great joy in giving back and helping others. She also loved feeding and watching the birds that visited her home, finding peace and happiness in the simple beauty of God’s creation. Her faith, compassion, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, JoHila Roach and husband Trevor Burress, of Kingsport; grandsons Rankin, Callan, and Paxton Burress; sister Shelia Shelton of Kingsport; brother Gregory Bushong and wife Diana of Weaverville, NC; brother Jeff Bushong of Jonesborough, TN; nieces Tina Jenkins, Tonya Thompson (Steve) and Amanda Morse (Charlie).
A family-led Celebration of Life Service will be held at Grace Christian Church (1713 E. Sevier Ave.) on Saturday, July 25 at 2pm with Dr. Ed Clevinger officiating. A reception will follow to visit with the family. To honor Sharon’s style, please wear your favorite t-shirt or tie dye shirt.
