

Shirley Ann Parlier, age 61, went to heaven July 14, 2012 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Shirley was born in Greeneville, and was a longtime resident of Kingsport. She was a daughter to the late Herman and Thelma Partin, and was also preceded in death by her brother, John Partin. Shirley was a member of North Star Baptist Church in Bristol, VA. She was formerly involved actively with the South Carolina Jaycees, where her husband Ray had served as State President.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ray Parlier; son, Brad Parlier of Kingsport; daughter Kristi Johnson and husband Davan of Bristol, TN; two grandchildren, Opal Michelle Parlier and Lane Joshua Parlier; two sisters, Pansy DeBusk of Massachusetts and Dorothy Sherfey of Johnson City. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at North Star Baptist Church, Bristol, VA. The family will also receive friends Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, with services to follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Bill Houck officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be John Tingle, Jon Holmes, Joey Musser, Jerry Robinson, Jim Ball, Jay Shoop, Matthew Housewright. Honorary pallbearers will be The Widows Group, Phyllis Dorton, Eleanor Coleson,Pat McClure, Joy Cornwell, Eula Elkins,and special friends Diana Dailey and Emily Kausch.
