Stella Cordelia Vanderpool

Stella Cordelia Sanchez Vanderpool, age 79, of Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on May 18, 1947, the daughter of the late Isaac and Ernestine Salazar Sanchez. Stella was a passionate Interior Designer who thrived on the creativity and artistry her profession allowed her to express. Beyond her work, Stella found immense joy in remodeling houses. In her downtime, she loved to relax on her front deck, where she could immerse herself in the serene beauty of nature. Traveling was another one of Stella's great passions. Additionally, Stella found solace in playing the piano, which not only brought her joy but also served as a reminder of the beauty that life offers, both in art and in everyday moments.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Nicole Vanderpool; nephew, Charles Savala; brother-in-law, Bob Kosher; and special cousin, Yolanda Darrington.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Dennis Vanderpool; grandchild, Colton Vanderpool; sisters, Viola Kosher, Rita Eagle (Jim), and Amanda Sanchez; brother Isaac Sanchez; special friends, Marsha & Bill Vanderpool and Jaime Duncan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.

The Funeral Mass for Stella will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Dominic Catholic Parish with Father Joseph Kuzhupil officiating. Friends and family may pay their respects an hour prior to the service.

The committal service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park at Chapel of Memories with Father Joseph Kuzhupil and Wayne Sherfey officiating. Special singing by Lisa Meade.
