Dr. Sue Curran, founding pastor of Shekinah Church Ministries passed into her heavenly reward on Tuesday afternoon, May 26, 2026, in Bristol, VA. She was born October 13, 1941, in Norton, VA and spent her life in Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee. Pastor Curran along with her husband John served five decades in Christian ministry in the Tri-Cities area and around the world.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Curran; her mother, Hazel Kilbourne Good Armstrong; and her father, Bascom Good. Pastor Sue is survived by her sister, Glenna Adams; her nephew, Nick Adams; her brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Peggy Monk; and several nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her friends and by the many children in the Christian faith whom she taught and nurtured over the years.
She will be celebrated in a service in the sanctuary of Shekinah Church on June 11,2026. You may visit with the family at 2:00 pm with the Celebration Service beginning at 3 pm and burial to follow in the Shekinah Church Cemetery on the grounds. Pastor Jane Lambert will coordinate the memorial service and committal of her body to the grave awaiting the resurrection.
