She was retired from Indian Path Medical Center, where she worked in the cafeteria for 30 years. After retirement, Bobbie spent her time cooking at home and enjoying her children and grandchildren. Bobbie was a lifelong member of Midfield Free Will Baptist Church. Her children consider her a great mother who never had any complaints.
Preceding her in death include her husband of 63 years, Robert “Bob” Summers; her parents, Ludema and Clemons Lane; and her brothers, Bill and Marvin Lane.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her daughter Cathy Robinson and husband Mike; sons, Danny Summers and wife Beverly, Lanny Summers and wife Dorothy and Jeff Summers and wife Amy; grandchildren, Jason Summers & wife Nikki, Eric Summers, Melissa Luther, Holly Summers, Vanessa Kilian and husband Mike, Glenda Arnold, Michael Robinson and fiancé Misty, Christy Bombailey and husband Jason; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service will be conducted on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 10:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Apostles with Pastor Mike Robinson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jason Summers, Eric Summers, Mike Kilian, Michael Robinson, Dustin Britt, Holden Taylor and Logan Robinson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Billy Gragg officiating.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Vanessa Kilian and Carey Young for their compassion and care for Bobbie.
