Theodore Elliott Davis, 81, passed during the early morning hours of Monday (September 16, 2019) following an extended illness. Theodore was born on March 29, 1938 in Waynesville, NC to the late William Carden & Lillie Virginia (Bumgarner) Davis.
“Ted” unselfishly served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, woodworking, and was known by many as a Master Carpenter. He was a member of Seymour United Methodist Church. “Ted” was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, “Ted” was preceded in death by his previous wife, Shelby Jean Davis; two infant brothers; and sister, Shirley Marie Rinberger.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 16 years, Joyce Davis; son, Michael Dunn & wife Lorraine; step-daughter, Robin Matyczyk; brother, William Maurice Davis; three sisters, Paulette Idleman & husband Dwight, Frances Herzer & husband Frank, and Rebecca Delp; four grandchildren, Chris Collins & wife Chelsea, Jessica Puckett & husband Jesse, James Collins & wife Molly, and Joshua Dunn; one great-granddaughter, Katelyn Nicole Puckett; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday (September 19, 2019) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Seay officiating.
Theodore will be entombed on Friday (September 20, 2019) at 10 a.m. in Mausoleum II at East Lawn Memorial Park.
