Tommy Jo Ferrier, 92, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with her daughter by her side. Her daughter would like to thank NHC Kingsport for taking exceptional care of her mother for 2 ½ years. She became quite the bingo champion during her time there and rarely missed a chance to play.
Tommy was born June 8, 1934, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, to the late William Thomas and Vera Pauline Pennington Wininger. Tommy retired from the federal government after 30 years of service as a legal secretary and was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ferrier, as well as her siblings Paula Goodwin, Bill Wininger, Dale Wininger, Percy E. “Sonny” Wininger, Barbara Kelly, David Wininger, Judy Wininger, and Mike Wininger.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Ferrier; five siblings: Jim Wininger, Linda Cox, Carol Byall, Kaye Delfino, and Teri Ryan; along with many nieces and nephews.
Per Tommy’s wishes, no services will be held, and interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
