Veralene Ray

Veralene Ray, age 75, of Kingsport, entered into rest on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Wexford House. Mrs. Ray was a native of Sullivan County and the daughter of the late Walter and Mollie Gilliam. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in the Morrison City community. One of her favorite past times was to read.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack C. Ray in 1989 and a sister, Loriane Glover.

Survivors include her sons: Michael Ray and wife Linda, Mark Ray and wife Lori; brother, James Gilliam; sisters: Sherlene Lark, Mrs. Ray’s twin, and Angelene Taylor and Geraldene Darnell; grandchildren: Josh Ray and wife Robin, Andrew Ray, Michael Ray, Jr. and wife Lauren and Melinda Weitzel and husband Scott; several great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mrs. Ray will be conducted on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Albert South, officiating. Everyone is asked to assemble at the gravesite by 1:45 p.m. for the service.
