

Verlin “Lee” Grogg, 50, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mr. Grogg was born on January 23, 1964 in Kingsport, Tennessee the son of Fred Leonard Grogg and Betty Jean Condry Grogg. He was a socializing CB Radio Handler known as “Catbird” and was a University of Tennessee Vols fan. He loved gardening; fishing and also loved his little dog Tiny who preceded him in death. Mr. Grogg was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Grogg; and paternal grandparents, Andrew and Beulah Grogg. Survivors include his father, Fred L. Grogg; three sisters, Debra Edwards and husband Dicky, Donna Gibson and husband Nard, and Kimberly Kitzmiller and husband Randy; one daughter, Brittany Minor; seven nieces and nephews, Justin Gray, Jeni Morelock, Nard Gibson, Sara Gibson, Dillon Gibson, Keisha Kitzmiller, and Donavan Kitzmiller; eight great nieces and nephews; and special family friends, The Comptons. The family will receive friends Friday, January 2, 2015 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Graveside Service for Mr. Verlin “Lee” Grogg will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00am with Pastor Chris Cody officiating in the Garden of Apostles of East Lawn Memorial Park.
