Isaiah 66:13 “As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

Virginia Edmunds Bible, age 92 of Johnson City, TN, was taken up into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 3, 2018. Virginia was born on November 5, 1925 in Cherokee, NC to Reade and Beatrice Edmunds. From an early age, Virginia began serving Jesus Christ, as her parents were missionaries to Native Americans. As Virginia grew into a young woman, she married her best friend and love of her life, Reverend Ralph E. Bible, Jr., and after 61 years of a beautiful marriage and serving the Lord together, he preceded her in death on March 19, 2007.

Virginia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a strong woman of faith and she inspired so many people in her life. She especially inspired her children and grandchildren. To her children, she inspired them to be good providers. Virginia always wanted her children to have better things than what she had.

For her grandchildren, she inspired them to be independent and be able to communicate with others in a humbled and genuine way. She inspired them to have a great work ethic and to always strive to do the best they can in whatever they do. Virginia inspired her family to be kind and to love; even those who were unlovable. She was an elegant lady, and she was a true lady in every aspect of her life. Virginia was a sweet and kind lady, but she was also a passionate protector of her family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Rev. Ralph E. Bible, Jr.; and son, Ronnie Lee Bible. Left to carry on Virginia’s legacy are her son, Ralph E. Bible, III and wife Dawn P. Bible; daughter, Susan N. Bible; grandchildren, Eric R. Bible, Molly Beth Bible, Mark Bible, and Sara Bible Britt; great grandson, Michael Chandler Britt; daughter-in-law, Melody Shipley Bible; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a private family service scheduled at a later date.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.eastlawnkingsport.com. East Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park has the honor of serving the family.

Thank you Mark and Molly, my children, for all your help with mom the walks Mark, Molly, and Brigette and I took with mom at Indian Trail School and all the walks at the great apartment called Country Scene, that Stephanie, the really nice landlord owned, good times and great place for me and my children to live, good memories. The walks we took on a fairly flat surface for mom at the apartment , so that was great. For all the times we were able to go out and eat dinner and have fun and laughter. For the times spent visiting in the apartment and enjoying one another. Thanks for the time spent eating together on holidays and the last one on Thanksgiving at Crackle Barrel in Johnson, Tennessee. I think that thrilled our Mom and Grandmom that family could be together and I am sure Dad and Ronnie we're happy, also. Thank you all very much.

My grandmom, Virginia Bible was a beautiful soul. She lived an incredibly long, healthy, and happy life. It kills me knowing she is no longer on this beautiful earth with us but I know she is somewhere better watching over all of us. She was an incredibly strong woman. She cared and loved for all.

Love you Mom . Thanks for allowing me to take care of you the best I could while working and and trying maintain things. I won't forget that and how many people actually take care of there own parents or they go in a nursing home, but I wanted to try to do the best I could and not leave you sitting by yourself. I hope things where you are, are working out for you and you stand tall as the women you are without your boundaries being taken over in a bad way, like in this world time zone and no, Mom, it really shouldn't be this way here either. I don't like to be told how i feel in the wrong way to be hurt by others , sensitivity is a good thing , or how I should be controlled when I know I am doing well and trying to do the best with good intentions. How very sad this is occurring in this time in people's lives. I am sure you will be promoted to a angel to serve others and be loved. Miss you and will think of you always and how beautiful you always looked and your perfume. I am very grateful for the honor you gave me even though it was not easy. Love always. Life is definitely short.

Today is International Women's Day. Thursday March 8, 2018. I want to dedicate this to Mom , Virginia E. Bible, and all of my family including inlaws. I give my mother credit for International Women's Day , who just passed away, but definitely she's is credited, in my eyes and to my family. I believe I have learned things about love and spirituality through my mom and my family, even though things weren't always perfect. My love to mom and dad always, that your love and spirituality will spread throughout your renewed life. In my mom's honor of her passing on March 3, 2018, I give my mother high privelege credit for International Women's Day and to all Women in the world and men that honor. I love you Mom.
