“As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”
Virginia Edmunds Bible, age 92 of Johnson City, TN, was taken up into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 3, 2018. Virginia was born on November 5, 1925 in Cherokee, NC to Reade and Beatrice Edmunds. From an early age, Virginia began serving Jesus Christ, as her parents were missionaries to Native Americans. As Virginia grew into a young woman, she married her best friend and love of her life, Reverend Ralph E. Bible, Jr., and after 61 years of a beautiful marriage and serving the Lord together, he preceded her in death on March 19, 2007.
Virginia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a strong woman of faith and she inspired so many people in her life. She especially inspired her children and grandchildren. To her children, she inspired them to be good providers. Virginia always wanted her children to have better things than what she had.
For her grandchildren, she inspired them to be independent and be able to communicate with others in a humbled and genuine way. She inspired them to have a great work ethic and to always strive to do the best they can in whatever they do. Virginia inspired her family to be kind and to love; even those who were unlovable. She was an elegant lady, and she was a true lady in every aspect of her life. Virginia was a sweet and kind lady, but she was also a passionate protector of her family.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Rev. Ralph E. Bible, Jr.; and son, Ronnie Lee Bible. Left to carry on Virginia’s legacy are her son, Ralph E. Bible, III and wife Dawn P. Bible; daughter, Susan N. Bible; grandchildren, Eric R. Bible, Molly Beth Bible, Mark Bible, and Sara Bible Britt; great grandson, Michael Chandler Britt; daughter-in-law, Melody Shipley Bible; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family service scheduled at a later date.
