He is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Ollie Hood, his loving wife Lola (Joan) Hood of 67 years and his great granddaughter Ashley Jones.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Donna and husband Richard Scott, and his grandson Jacob and wife Cindy Russell.
He was a proud veteran of WWII having served with the 42nd Infantry Rainbow Division. During his service in WWII he helped to liberate the Dachau’s concentration camp, receiving 2 Bronze Stars, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal WWII, he most recently was awarded a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for Distinguished Service and Valor in WWII.
Wallace also was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge having served with them and the Scottish Rights for 55 years. He will at last be laid beside his wife on Wednesday June 25, 2025.
A visitation for Wallace will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 12:00 PM. A military graveside service will occur Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
