William Ray Byrd

He was born August 13, 1948, in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late William Ray Byrd, Sr. and the late Della Beatrice Payne Byrd. William was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 40 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he loved being outdoors hunting and camping. William will be fondly remembered as a loving family man and faithful servant of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Brenda Gail Byrd.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 29 years, Diane Byrd; three children, Marcy Roney and husband Darrell, Katrina Waye and husband Danny, and Danita Newton and husband Chris Hatcher; one stepson, Jae Gryder and wife Monica; three grandchildren, Jeron, Lucas, and Zoe; one brother, Paul Victor Byrd; one sister, Linda Byrd Salyer and husband Marvin. William is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for William’s family and close friends.
