William L Devault

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Bill served his country honorably during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). His service and dedication to his fellow soldiers and his nation will forever be remembered and appreciated.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Hamblen DeVault; his son, Michael DeVault; his brothers, Larry DeVault, James C. DeVault, and Richard P. DeVault; and his sister, Barbara Baldwin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Verlin and Betty DeVault.

Family and friends are invited to honor William’s life on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Wheeler United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Wheeler United Methodist Church in Blountville or any Vietnam Veterans organization.

Bill will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, quiet humility, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
