

Kingsport, Tennessee. Mr. Talley was born November 2, 1955, and was a lifetime resident of Kingsport.
He was a highschool graduate from Dobyns‐Bennett High School in 1973 and became a dedicated,
valued employee of 42 ½ years at Eastman from 1976‐2018. He was a saved Christian, loving husband,
father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and very proud to be called an American.
Bill had a great passion for the outdoors, loved hunting, fishing, and was a member of the North
American Hunting Club and NRA. He was an avid dart player, member of the Greater Tri‐Cities Darting
Association and founding member of the HooDoo Rhythm Devils. Bill enjoyed his gatherings at Rush
Street and O’Charley’s with his local friends, and he was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan. His love for life, his
family and friends will never be forgotten.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Helen Sue Talley, his sister Jane Smith of Johnson City,
Tennessee; his father Dayton Talley of Kingsport, Tennessee; and his mother, Betty Hurd of Johnson City,
Tennessee.
He is survived by one step‐son, Brian Hodges (Anne) of Bethlehem, GA; two daughters: Lisa Talley
(Darrell Riddley) of Auburndale, FL, and Linda Richardson (Jon, Sr.) of Chandler, TX; and two sons:
William Talley, Jr. of Texarkana, TX and Bobby Talley of Sevierville, TN. Ten grandchildren: (Brian)‐
Alexander Hodges of Bethlehem, GA; (Lisa)‐Mary Williams of Lodi, WI, Brooklyn Everett & Kobe Everett
of Auburndale, FL; (Linda)‐ Sara Richardson, Anna Richardson, Jon Richardson, Jr. & Miya Richardson of
Chandler, TX; (Bobby) – 2 children. One great‐granddaughter: (Brooklyn) Brielle Rose Everett of
Auburndale, FL; Brother‐in‐law, Jim Smith of Johnson City, TN and two nieces; Joy Schimborski of Ocala,
FL and Brittany Robinson of Clayton County, GA; one nephew; Mark A. Phelps of Kingsport, TN; and one step-daughter, Carrie A. Hodges of Kingsport, TN and a number of other relatives.
Funeral arrangements will be held by East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Kingsport, TN, on
Saturday, March 2, 2024. Visitation will begin from 11:00am‐12:00pm, with funeral services following
from 12:00pm‐1:00pm.
