

Mr. Snapp was born on September 7, 1928, the son of the late John W. and Sally Lou Bailey Snapp. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Snapp was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for over 41 years. Mr. Snapp was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. He was a member and a former deacon of the Sunnyside Baptist Church and was married to the former Virginia Joan Lay who survives.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Virginia Joan Snapp. One son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Janet Snapp. Two daughters and son-in-law, Del Snapp and Vicki and Arlen Easley. One brother, Howard Snapp and his wife Lucille. Two sisters, Jo Fugate and her husband Tommy, and Sue Bradley. Special brother-in-law, J. D. "Buck" Lay. Seven grandchildren, Chad Arslanian, Jacob Stamper, Josh Snapp, Jason Snapp, Stephanie Baker, Kelly Taylor, and April Jeter. Six great-grandchildren along with a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Snapp will be conducted on Saturday at 7 p.m. from the Sunnyside Baptist Church with Dr. Roy Graves, Dr. Jack Parrott, Rev. Gary Jennings officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Ed McCain and Nellie Kate Fields. Burial will follow on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Gethsemane.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will include the following gentlemen Jason and Josh Snapp, Jake Stamper, Chad and Austin Arslanian, Brad Taylor, Joe Jeter, and Mike Fields. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sammy Snapp and Jason Lowery.
