

A native of Sullivan County, TN, Mrs. Sparks was born on August 26, 1940 the daughter of the late Emmett Patton and Juanita Mae Ketron Hawkins. She was Seventh Day Adventist and was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. David Albert Sparks in 2005. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Sparks was employed with the Kingsport Press and later as a clerk for Road Runner convenience stores. Survivors include her son, Mr. Lonnie Sparks of Kingsport. Two grandchildren; Leyna Cummings and Ryan Sparks. Three great-grandchildren; Lucas Cummings, Brooke Lynn Cummings and James Sparks. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday July 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Tri-Cities Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.eastlawnkingsport.com.
