Arnold D. Buckalew

Arnold D. Buckalew, age 83, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born May 20, 1928 in Vealmoor, Texas to Edward Buckalew and Velma Moyers Buckalew.

Mr. Buckalew was employed by Celanese Corporation for 32 years until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Buckalew’s favorite hobbies included fishing, gardening and RV’ing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Billie Buckalew of Kingsville; one daughter, Lou Ann Smith (Carey) of Galveston, Texas; one son, Tommy Buckalew (Jane) of Kingsville; and three grandchildren; Russell Schwirtlich (Tiffani), Brooke Schwirtlich and Cole Buckalew.

Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Chamberlain Cemetery with Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating.
