Emily Jo Pollard

Emily Jo Pollard passed away on May 14, 2011, at the age of 89. She was born to Emit and Willie Ione Goslin on July 7, 1921 in Simmons, Texas. Emily was a life member of the First Presbyterian Church and a past member of Playhouse of Design. She was well known for her quilting, sewing, canning and cooking. She retired from Texas A&I University Speech and Drama Department, as their Costume Designer. Emily was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by three of her children, Frances C. Pollard, William Mathew Pollard, and Margaret G. McKee; her parents; and brothers and sisters.

Emily leaves to cherish her memory her sons, David M. Pollard, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Tommy G. (Janet) Pollard, and Roger (Laura) Pollard, both of Kingsville, Texas. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chuck Miller officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
