

Emmett Louis Schroeder, 88 years of age, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 4, 1924, in Bishop, Texas, to Louis W. Schroeder and Emma Louise Schroeder. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Emmett will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He will always have a special place in the hearts of family and friends. Emmett made his home in Bishop as a farmer and carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army for two years during World War II. He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bishop where he served in various leadership roles.
Emmett is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Monroe, Fred, Louis and Ella Schroeder, Rose Royce; and daughter, Nancy Schroeder.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Rosie Lee Schroeder; three daughters: Judy (Royce) Felder of Bishop, Janet (Tommy) Pollard of Kingsville, Texas and Lois Staff of Bishop; grandchildren: Stephanie (Paul) Londenberg, Courtney (Fred) Dodd, Matthew (Britney) Felder, Lisa (Brian) Trantham, Tim (Becky) Pollard, Travis Pollard, Melissa (Ryan) Jones and Lauren (Matt) Kiddy; great-grandchildren: Jonah Londenberg, Carson and Lainey Dodd, Taylor, Austin and Madison Trantham, Jackson and Kyle Jones, Kamryn and Kendall Kiddy, Dakota, Spencer and Caiden Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Paul Londenberg, Fred Dodd, Matthew Felder, Tim Pollard, Travis Pollard, Brian Trantham, Ryan Jones and Matt Kiddy. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonah Londenberg, Carson Dodd, Austin Trantham, Jackson Jones, Kyle Jones, Dakota Roberts, Spencer Roberts and Caiden Roberts.
Visitation will be Friday, September 14, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, Kingsville. Family will then be receiving friends at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 E. Main, Bishop from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Bishop, with Pastor Melvin Q. Antonio officiating. Interment will follow the service at Restland Cemetery in Bishop with full military honors. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 366, Bishop, Texas 78343 or a charity of your choice. Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.
