Gladys Evelyn Lambert Garrett

Gladys Evelyn Lambert Garrett, age 87, a resident of Bishop, Texas passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Alice, Texas. She was born July 18, 1924 in Monticello, Lawrence County, Mississippi to Cabe D. Lambert and Matiel Fuller Lambert. Mrs. Garrett, a homemaker, was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bishop. She was preceded in death by her husband, John I. Garrett; and two sons, Lewis Garrett and John D. Garrett. Mrs. Garrett is survived by three daughters, Donna Stone of Oklahoma, Linda Mockler of Elliott, Texas and Evelyn Myers (Charles) of Bishop; five sons, Tom Garrett of Victoria, Texas, Keith Garrett (Karen) of Kingsville, Texas, Douglas Garrett of Franklin, Texas, James Garrett of Bishop and Kelly Garrett (Judy) of Hearne, Texas; one brother, Willard Lambert of Kansas; two sisters, Joyce Carpenter (Ed) and Carolyn Bruce (Don), both of Mississippi; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Bishop, with Rev. Clif Abshier officiating.

Burial will follow in Bishop at Restland Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
