Gloria C. Jimenez

Gloria C. Jimenez, age 71, a resident of Bishop, Texas passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born July 8, 1940 in Bishop to Ignacio Jimenez and Josefa Cortez Jimenez. Miss Jimenez was a cashier for Irby’s 5&10 General Store in Bishop and a home health caregiver. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jose Octavio Jimenez; and four sisters, Guadalupe Castaneda, Estellita Jimenez, Olivia Garcia and Janie Guartuche.

Miss Jimenez is survived by five sisters, Elisa Lerma (Rafael) of Baytown, Texas, Rosa Maria Trujillo (Edward) of Kingsville, Texas, Maria Irma Rosa, Dora Perez (Miguel) and Mary J. Rodriguez (Oscar), all of Bishop; three brothers, Ignacio Jimenez (Lydia) of Baytown, Benito Jimenez (Angela) and Jose Alfredo Jimenez (Vilma), all of Bishop; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel, Kingsville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Koziol as celebrant. Burial will follow in Bishop at St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
