

Jean Edward Walshe Sr., age 90, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born October 27, 1921 in Robstown, Texas to Robert E. Walshe and Rose Downs Walshe. Mr. Walshe was the owner of The Laundry Maid for 35 years which was the first coin operated laundry in Kingsville. He also owned several coin operated car washes. Mr. Walshe, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In the 1950’s he sang and taught the Bible on his television program – My Devotion.
Mr. Walshe was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Walshe; parents; and two brothers, Richard Walshe and Robert Walshe.
He is survived by three sons, Jean Walshe Jr. (Dorothy) of Kingsville, Robert Walshe (Teresa) of San Antonio, Texas and Timothy Walshe (Brenda) of Freer, Texas; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, 312 West King Avenue, Kingsville, with Rev. Timothy Walshe and Rev. Jack Willoughby officiating.
