

.Patrick Joseph Smith of Glenamaddy, Co. Galway, Ireland, was born on April 16, 1944 and entered eternal life on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the age of 68 following a courageous battle with cancer at his home in Kingsville, Texas.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Annie May Smith.
He is survived by his siblings: Sister Elizabeth Smith, an Incarnate Word Sister of San Antonio, Texas, Kathleen Joyce of Boston, John and Pauline Smith of England, Carmel Mannion and her husband Dennis of Ireland, Anne Conneally and her husband Martin of Ireland, Kevin Smith of Boston, Oliver Smith and his wife Mary of Ireland, Maureen Kearney of Ireland; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Ireland and the United States.
Patrick’s request was to have his body cremated and buried in San Antonio, Texas. This request was honored by his sister, Sister Elizabeth who was his caregiver during his long illness. Sister Elizabeth wishes to express gratitude to all who helped Patrick on his journey, especially Incarnate Word Sisters in San Antonio for their prayers and support as well as the Incarnate Word Sisters of Houston for their hospitality, love and concern and all the doctors who cared for Patrick especially Dr. Gilberto Sosa. A Mass of Thanksgiving will be offered for all your intentions.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at the Chapel of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, 4503 Broadway,San Antonio, with Rev. P.R. Victor as celebrant. Burial of the cremains will follow at the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word Cemetery. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Kingsville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rev. Francis K. Nemeck, O.M.I., Lebh Shomea House of Prayer, LaParra Ranch, Sarita, Texas 78385.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
