

Polly B. Flood, age 86, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born November 15, 1925 in Laurel, Mississippi toHenry Alsia Bassett and Mable Darnell Bassett. Mrs. Flood was a member of Retama Park Baptist Church. She was the Sunday School Teacher teaching the 5th and 6th grade classes for many years. Mrs. Flood enjoyed art, music, literature and history.
Mrs. Flood was preceded in death on April 30, 2005 by her beloved husband, Johnnie Alvin Flood Jr.; son, Richard Alvin Flood; and daughter, Cynthia Flood Steed.
She is survived by two sons, John A. Flood (Dorri) of Maurepas, Louisiana, and Michael Alvin Flood (Candy) of Greenville, Texas; and four grandchildren, Richard Alvin Flood II, Zachary Winston Flood, Samantha Rose Flood and Sydney Elizabeth Flood.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the family present during those hours. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Retama Park Baptist Church, 515 East General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, with Rev. Gary Clements officiating. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Sandersville Cemetery, Sandersville, Mississippi under the direction of Memory Chapel, Laurel, Mississippi.
Memorials may be made to Retama Park Baptist Church, 515 East General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas and Memory Chapel, Laurel, Mississippi.
