Rene Garza

Rene Garza, age 62, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 in Kingsville. He was born on December 29, 1947 in Falfurrias, Texas to Alberto Garza and Maria Naranjo Garza. Mr. Garza was a former employee of Celanese Corporation. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carmen A. Garza of Kingsville; two sons, Rene S. (Diana) Garza of Spring, Texas and Rolando Ray (Yvette) Garza of Bishop, Texas; one daughter, Carol (Israel, Jr.) Vela of Kingsville; four brothers, Victor Garza of Pueblo, Colorado, Abel (Lee) Garza of East Chicago, Indiana, Juan (Janie) Garza of Kingsville and Humberto (Esther) Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas; five sisters, Lupe (Ricardo) Vela of Falfurrias, Janie Gehrke of Pueblo, Colorado, Maggie (Tino) Trevino of Alice, Texas, Melissa Garza of Kingsville and Sandra (Fernando) Guzman of Alice, Texas; five granddaughters, Kimberly Marie and Kristy Renee Vela, both of Kingsville, Karina Danielle and Emily Ann Garza, both of Spring, Texas and Rylie Ray Garza of Bishop; two grandsons, Israel Garza Vela of Kingsville and Mario Rene Garza of Spring, Texas; mother-in-law, Lala Alaniz of Kingsville; two brothers-in-law, Juan P. (Rosario) Alaniz of Pearsall, Texas and Joe (Cindy) Alaniz of Pearland, Texas; sister-in-law, Annette Guajardo of Kingsville; and numerous beloved nephews and nieces.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1400 Brookshire Drive, Kingsville, with Fr. Romeo Salinas as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kingsville at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.

He will always be remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
